Energy storage and management
Make the most of every watt produced, even when there is no sunlight
Li-Mithra’s thermal storage and energy management system allows you to capture, store, and intelligently control the energy you produce. By combining a thermal accumulator, solar batteries, and the Limibox, your installation runs smoothly: surpluses are stored rather than lost, usage is optimized, and even in the event of a power outage, autonomy is enhanced.

Why invest in storage?
Control, continuity, optimization
Solar production is variable—sometimes your photovoltaic system produces more than you need at any given moment. Without storage, this energy is lost or sold back at less favorable rates. Storage allows you to conserve this energy for later use, redistribute it when needed, and improve your electricity self-consumption.

At Li-Mithra, we use two main levers:
- The thermal accumulator/hot water tank: the system captures a significant portion (up to ~90%) of the thermal energy in this carbon-neutral storage facility.
- Dedicated solar battery: surplus photovoltaic electricity (not immediately needed) is stored for later use or as a backup in the event of a power outage.
This combined approach provides both significant thermal capacity for heating/hot water and a strategic electrical reserve for times of need.
How does the Li-Mithra management system work?
Energy flows, control and intelligence
- Production & distribution: the photovoltaic energy produced primarily powers the heat pump, household appliances, and any surplus is directed to storage.
- Priority thermal storage: a large proportion of the energy is redirected to the thermal accumulator/DHW tank to reduce losses.
- Electricity/battery storage: surplus electricity that is not consumed is stored in a battery sized according to the study (e.g., 10 kWh).
- Control via the Limibox: the central hub of the system, it manages flows, monitors remotely, and prioritizes usage according to weather conditions, housing demand, remaining storage capacity, etc.
- Backup/power cut function: in the event of a power cut, the system can activate the battery to power essential circuits, ensuring partial continuity.
This intelligent control maximizes internal usage, limits losses, and extends the life of the storage system.

Typical components and sizing
What a Li-Mithra “storage + management” installation contains
Depending on the project and consumption, the installation typically includes:
- Thermal and hot water storage tank (200 to 500 L), depending on requirements.
- 10 kWh electric storage battery for surplus energy.
- 3 to 9 kW inverter, electrical protection boxes.
- Limibox, the connected control and management interface.
- Backup device if necessary to ensure minimum operation in the event of a power outage.
Each installation is sized according to actual consumption, usage profiles, local sunlight conditions, and housing constraints.
